RA HA Wedding Band Experience

A private studio session for couples who want to make each other’s wedding bands by hand.

Wedding bands are among the few objects we choose to live with every day, for decades. The Wedding Band Experience is a quiet, hands-on way to take part in making that object — not by designing from endless options, but by slowing down, working with the material, and shaping something personal together.

The Experience

The session is a private, three to four hour appointment in the RA HA studio in Providence.

You will each carve a wax model of a wedding band, with guidance throughout the process. No prior jewelry experience is needed. We’ll begin by talking through proportion, width, comfort, and how the rings should feel on the hand. From there, I’ll guide you step by step as you shape the wax.

After the session, I handle the technical work: casting, cleanup, finishing, polishing, and any final refinements needed to turn the wax models into finished gold rings.

The result is a pair of wedding bands that carry the gesture of your hands, translated into metal.

Timeline

After the studio session, finished rings are typically ready in about 4 weeks.

Please allow additional time for engraving, stones, or more complex finishing details. For most couples, beginning the process at least 8–10 weeks before the wedding date leaves a comfortable margin.

Pricing

The private Wedding Band Experience studio fee is $600 per couple.

Finished rings are priced separately and depend on metal, width, ring size, weight, and any additional details. Most 14k gold bands begin around $1,200 each.

Engraving, stones, or design additions can be included when appropriate and will be quoted separately before the rings are cast.

A final estimate is provided before moving forward with casting.

What’s Included

The private three to four hour studio session
Wax carving materials and tools
Design and proportion guidance
Preparation of the wax models for casting
Final finishing and polishing of the completed rings

Good to Know

The process is beginner-friendly and fully guided.

The finished rings will retain subtle evidence of the hand-carved process. Small irregularities are part of what makes the rings personal — they are not machine-made objects, but pieces shaped through time, attention, and care.

The studio is located in Providence, Rhode Island. Full directions are shared once the appointment is scheduled.
