An Introduction to Ring Making
In this small, hands-on workshop, you’ll design and carve a ring in wax, which will be professionally cast in solid sterling silver after class.
This session is open to complete beginners and anyone curious about how jewelry is made. No prior experience required.
Over three focused, approachable hours, you’ll learn the foundations of wax carving while shaping a ring that reflects your own sense of form. We move at a steady pace, with plenty of guidance and space to experiment.
You’ll learn:
• How to shape a comfortable, wearable ring
• Core wax-carving techniques: cutting, filing, refining
• How jewelers think about proportion, balance, and durability
You’ll leave with:
• Your finished wax ring ready for casting
• A deeper understanding of the jewelry-making process
• A sterling silver version of your ring, cast and polished after class and shipped within approximately three weeks
All tools and materials are provided.
Class size is intentionally small to allow for individual instruction.
